General Information about Nal Sarovar

Nal Sarovar is a bird sanctuary which is spread over an area of 120.82-sq km, which is quiet with shallow water (4-5 feet), which has 36 small islands. Nalsarovar is located at a distance of 60 km near Sanand village of Gujarat, Ahmedabad.

Mainly inhabited by migratory birds in their winter season, the wetlands of Nalsarovar are the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat and the largest bird in India. Nalsarovar was declared as Bird Sanctuary since 1969.

Nal Sarovar Lake lies in the lowest area between Central Gujarat and East Saurashtra. It represents the sea link which exists between the Little Rann and the Gulf of Cambay.



Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary

More than 200 types of birds live mainly in this lake and here the foreign birds of Siberia come. In Gujarat, Nalsarovar is considered a paradise of bird watching, various species of Rosici Pelicans, Flamingo, Cracks, Brahmin Ducks, Purple Lake, Deer, White Storks, Bitrates, Gibbes etc.

Can be found in the lake. The best time to visit Nalsarovar is in winter between November and February. However, migratory birds arrive in October and live till April, but their population reaches its peak in mid-winter. The best time to watch the birds is in the morning and evening time.

Lothal is one of the most prominent cities of the ancient Indus Valley civilization, which is located in the bargain area of the modern state of Gujarat and is 3700 BC to Dinakar. Founded in 1954, Lothal was opened by the Indian Government’s official agency for the protection of ancient monuments by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from February 13, 1955 to May 19, 1960.

Lothal dock-the oldest known city in the world was connected to the city of the ancient course of Sabarmati river on the trade route between the Harappan cities of Sindh and the peninsula of Saurashtra when the Kutch desert surrounding today was part of the Arabian Sea.

It was an important and prosperous business center in ancient times, in which the trade of pearls, gems and precious jewels came along to reach the far west of Asia and Africa. For more than 4,000 years, from time to time testing and bee had led the techniques and equipment for bees and metallurgists.

Here pearls, clay jewelry, seal and silk reproductions, shell and ivory objects, copper and bronze items, tools and sculptures were excavated. Of the 5089 items opened during excavation, 800 items are displayed in museums.

Gujarat Science City, located in Hebatpur, Ahmedabad, is part of a government initiative to attract more students for education in science. The center organizes dance fountains between an IMX 3D Theater, an Energy Park, a Hall of Science, Planet Earth, an Amphitheater, Life Science Park and others.

Provides housing for students preparing for Center Science exams. 5 years for the children of the school, a program called Leisure Training Program on Bio Resources is also organized by the city of Science to encourage the students about the bio resources with the help of government funds.

This is a one-month long program for those students who have given their SSC exams, in every district of every state.

Sarkhejja Rosa is a mosque and grave complex, which is situated in the village of Makara in 7 km southwest of Ahmedabad, Gujarat state. Because of the famous comparisons of the design of this mosque, the 20th-century architect Le Corbusier’s Acropolis of Athens is known as “Acropolis of Ahmedabad”.

Sarkhejj Roja is the most prestigious, once the main country was a major center of Sufi culture, where the influential Sufi saint Shaikh Ahmed Ganj Baksh lived.

It was on the suggestion of the saint that Sultan Ahmed Shah established his capital on the banks of Sabarmati, a few miles away from Sabathia.

Founded in 1951, Kamala Nehru Zoo Park is located in the outer periphery of Kankaria Lake and spreads over 117 acres of area. Over 2 million migrants come every year. Within its range, it contains some rare species of breeding, birds and reptiles, which separates it from other biological gardens.

It is a personal touch by the dedicated leadership of the officials and dedicated zoo employees under the constant support of Ahmedabad city. Kamala Nehruzulological Garden was started with the aim of entertainment.

By Air

Ahmedabad is connected with regular flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bangalore, Nagpur. Indian Airlines, Air India, Jet Airways, Air Deccan, Spice Jet, Go Air and Kingfisher Airlines operate flights from Ahmedabad to various destinations in India. From here you can also go by taxi.

The fort of Bhadra was built by Sultan Ahmed Shah in 1411 AD. This royal fort has a Bhadrakali temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bhadrakali. Today, this fort acts as a venue for organizing a flag hoisting ceremony on Independence Day and Republic Day.

Nal sarovar geography

(Nal Sarovar) Nalsarovar – and surrounding slums were declared a bird sanctuary in 1969. Spanning 120 square kilometers, the lake and the extensive reed beds and fenos are ideal housing for aquatic plants and animals
